The CFRs in your community are ordinary people who have been trained to give life saving help to their neighbours while an ambulance is on its way. We rely 100% on donations to our charity to fund this vital work.
Chief Executive, Rachel Coney
We are the Sholing Community First Responders, volunteers who are trained to attend emergency 999 calls received by South Central Ambulance Service and provide life saving care until the ambulance arrives. We respond to medical emergencies in Sholing and surrounding areas, including: Woolston, Netley, Old Netley, Hightown, Thornhill and Itchen.
Our responders live or work in Sholing and the surrounding area and are able to arrive on scene within minutes of a 999 call being received
What we do
We provide basic life support care until the arrival of the ambulance. We carry oxygen and a defibrillator as well as other medical equipment and pain relief. We can be with a patient very quickly – providing emergency care in the critical time before the ambulance arrives.
We are very grateful to all those who have donated money, time and energy to the local CFR scheme for this community. If you live locally, or run a local business, and could help us with our fundraising we would love to hear from you.

The Sholing CFR Team will be attending the Christmas Fayre between 11:00 and 15:00, @ The Chamberlayne Leisure Centre, Weston SO19 9SJ. Why not come along and say hello. It will cost £1 for Adults and Children are FREE.
CFRs often get asked to attend events such as a village fete or fair in order to demonstrate vital life saving skills and collect on behalf of our charity.

Some schemes have volunteers who are qualified to provide first aid cover at local events. To find out if we can do this for you please email us.
