David Gregory, Co-ordinator of The Burghfield & Mortimer NHS Community First Responders recently had the pleasure of presenting De Vere Wokefield Estate’s senior management team with a plaque to commemorate their extraordinary efforts and continued support for the local lifesaving Responders team.
Back in 2012-13 De Vere Wokefield Estate started supporting the fundraising for a new local 4 x 4 Emergency Response Car. They generously hosted the launch event at their Wokefield Place building with over 80 local and regional VIPs attending.
Since then De Vere Wokefield Estate continue to fundraise with innovative community events such as “The Run for Responders” which attracted over 350 participants last year, Golf Days, Ad Hock Pop up food sales events and other ideas. Even now their internal staff Quality Wins team continue to produce amazing fundraisers encouraged by the new General Manager (Howard Lewis) which has raised over £10,000 to date.
“We are indebted to De Vere Wokefield Estate”, commented David Gregory, “They are truly an organisation focussed on their local community and are constantly in touch with us with proposals and ideas.”
“I’m a great fan of community engagement” commented Howard Lewis (GM) , “I love to see our staff involved in sports and supporting great causes like the Volunteer Community Medical Responders. We have had need of their services here once or twice and they have even saved a member of staff’s life so it’s a cause that’s very dear to our hearts.”
